What is a Doula?
A DOULA is a non-medical trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to families before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. Doulas work as liaisons between the family and the medical team to ensure the family understands the process and makes their own independent decisions. A doula helps to empower a family during the childbearth process.
